Daily Routine

A typical day at The Mountain School includes:

Circle time: songs, verses, and movement creatively reflecting the rhythms of the year
Free or imaginative play: dressing up, playing house, building structures, role-playing, making believe
Arts and crafts: watercolor painting, beeswax modeling, baking/cooking, handcrafts, seasonal crafts and activities
Clean up: a place for everything, and everything in its place! We all take good care of our classrooms.
Snack: homemade, wholesome, organic, vegetarian and delicious; provided by the school
Outdoor play: rain or shine, and the occasional neighborhood walk
Storytelling: engaging tales from the folk and fairy tale traditions, sometimes including a puppet show or play
Lunch: brought from home, with a helping of conversation
